RAID Shadow Legends has a plethora of champions to use – but it’s the luck of the draw. How many green Shards will it take for you to get a Rare Champion? How about an actually useful Rare champion?
Apothecary, Coldheart, Bellower… all amazing Rare Champions. While Apothecary seems to have an okay pull rate (or maybe it was just my luck to pull him early on my main and my test account), it’s all unpredictable.
Why most Guides for RAID Shadow Legends Teams don’t work
Isn’t it frustrating to look up guides for specific thing – say, Dragon’s Lair – and only see teams with at least 2 Legendaries and 2 Epics? Yes, I’m sure the team works GREAT – but what are the chances that I even have one of these champtions? What are the chances that I have all five?
Non-existent.
And that makes most guides out there pretty useless to me. How many Coldheart builds have you come accross? She only drops from Void Shards, and while she is an AMAZING champion, well, I don’t have one of those. So all of these builds that have Coldheart at the center – making her irreplaceable – are just wasting my time.
Far from me to say these guides aren’t useful to anyone who DOES have a Coldheart. She’s one heck of a good champion – if you have her, you certainly should use her.
but what if, like me, you don’t?
Well, we do have a way to take out some of the randomness out of the mix. First, picking a good starter champion will make things easier. Second, logging-in daily for the first 14 days will reward you with two great champions – just because you showed up! Currently, we get Ronda after 7 days and Jizoh after 14 days.
Ronda is pretty good in Arenas, Clan Boss, Faction Wars, and really good in Fire Knight’s Castle. If you played during her event and got her, make sure to look at a guide to maximize her.
Jizoh has very good potential for Arenas, Campaign, Faction Wars, and he’s really good at Minotaur. Being a Defense champion, he’s pretty tanky, and his buffs and debuffs are very solid. Make use of him, he’s especially good to boost your early and mid-game experience!
But let’s get to the best thing – farmable champions!
The Campaign in RAID Shadow Legends offers many champion drops, ranging from Common to Rare. Of course, just because they’re farmable doesn’t mean you’ll get good RNG, but it’s not complicated to farm the campaign, AND you can use that to level up some fodder at the same time.
Here are some champions you’ll want to actively farm, in order of priority, not zone:
- Kaerok Castle – Valerie. I’d just hang out in Kaerok Castle until I get her once, then add her to my team right away.
- Deadlands – Warmaiden, who’s a great support champion. Shieldguard, who’s tanky enough to solo a lot of content.
- Durham Forest – Spirithost – SPD boost, Debuff remover, all allies ATK buff + AURA: SPD +10% for all battles
- Brimstone Path – Diabolist – farmable Apothecary replacement. Great SPD/Turn meter boosts
- Sewers of Arnoc – Skullsworn. 2-3 hits on auto-attack skill + Counterattack self-buff
- Palace of Aravia – Heiress, Elfguard. You’ll want to stay here a while anyway to try and get decent SPD gear!
These are not the only viable champions to farm, but as far as priorities go, this is it!
Early Game Main Team
You’ll want to keep your starter champion in your team, then add Valerie for ATK and Shield buffs, Spirithost, and either your day 7 Legendary, day 14 Jizoh, or your Sniper for the time being.
If you need to level up some fodder as you go, then your team should consist of your starter champion, Spirithost, and leave the two other spots open for fodder.
